Capture issues

Page won’t open in browser

Check popup blocker

Disable popup blockers for Figma in your browser settings
2

Allow permissions

Grant browser permissions when prompted by the plugin
3

Try different browser

Use Chrome or Edge for best compatibility
4

Check URL validity

Ensure the URL is correct and accessible (try opening it manually first)

Capture button not working

Symptoms: Clicking capture button doesn’t start the conversion.
The Chrome extension is required for capture functionality:
  1. Install from Chrome Web Store
  2. Reload the webpage
  3. Try capture again
  1. Click extension icon in browser
  2. Grant all requested permissions
  3. Reload the page
  4. Try capture again
  1. Clear browser cache and cookies
  2. Reload the page
  3. Wait for full page load
  4. Try capture again

Capture stuck or freezing

Symptoms: Capture starts but doesn’t complete or shows loading indefinitely.
This usually happens with very complex pages or slow websites.
Solutions:
  1. Wait longer: Complex pages can take 30-60 seconds
  2. Refresh and retry: Reload the page and try again
  3. Capture specific section: Instead of full page, capture a section
  4. Check internet connection: Ensure stable connection
  5. Try simpler viewport: Start with mobile view if desktop is too complex

Partial page capture

Symptoms: Only part of the page is captured.
1

Enable full page capture

Check “Full page” option in plugin settings before opening browser
2

Wait for page load

Ensure entire page is loaded before clicking capture
3

Scroll through page

Manually scroll to bottom to trigger lazy-loaded content
4

Increase timeout

For slow-loading pages, wait 5-10 seconds after load before capturing

Quality issues

Blurry or low-quality images

Symptoms: Imported images look pixelated or low resolution. Causes & Solutions:
  • Source images are low quality: The plugin captures images at their source resolution. Check if the website serves low-res images.
  • Retina/high-DPI capture: Try capturing at desktop viewport for higher resolution
  • Image compression: Some websites serve compressed images that may look blurry when zoomed in Figma

Missing text or text as images

Symptoms: Text doesn’t appear or is captured as images instead of editable text.
Icon fonts may capture as images. This is normal. Extract icons separately if needed.
  1. Ensure fonts are loaded on the page before capture
  2. Wait a few extra seconds after page load
  3. Scroll through page to trigger font loading
Text that’s part of images (not HTML text) will import as images. This is expected behavior.

Wrong colors or styling

Symptoms: Colors don’t match the original website. Common causes:
  1. Theme mismatch: Ensure you selected correct theme (light/dark)
  2. Dynamic styles: Some sites change colors based on user interaction
  3. Browser rendering: Try different browser for capture
  4. Color profiles: Check if your Figma color profile matches web standards

Layout issues

Symptoms: Elements are misaligned or overlapping incorrectly. Solutions:
  • Responsive design: Website may shift elements. Try different viewport size.
  • JavaScript timing: Wait for all JS to execute before capturing
  • Sticky elements: Headers/footers may capture in wrong position. Scroll to reset.
  • Complex positioning: Some CSS positioning may need manual adjustment in Figma

Authentication issues

Can’t capture logged-in pages

Symptoms: Page shows login screen instead of authenticated content.
1

Install browser extension

The extension maintains your login session during capture
2

Log in first

  1. Open URL in plugin
  2. Browser tab opens
  3. Log in to the website
  4. Navigate to desired page
  5. Click capture button
3

Check session timeout

If session expires, log in again before capturing

Session expires during capture

Solutions:
  1. Complete capture quickly after login
  2. Increase session timeout in website settings if possible
  3. Have credentials ready to quickly re-login
  4. Contact support for enterprise/long-session solutions

Error messages

Possible causes:
  • Website blocks automated tools (Captcha, bot protection)
  • Invalid or inaccessible URL
  • Network connectivity issues
  • Browser extension not installed or outdated
Solutions:
  1. Verify URL is accessible in normal browser
  2. Install/update browser extension

  • Wait until next month for limit reset
  • Upgrade to Pro plan for unlimited imports
  • Contact support for enterprise options

”File too large”

Cause: The resulting Figma file exceeds size limits. Solutions:
  1. Capture specific sections instead of full page
  2. Use smaller viewport (mobile instead of desktop)

Close other Figma plugins that may be running in background
Close and reopen Figma to refresh performance
  1. Close Figma
  2. Clear application cache

  4. Use desktop viewport instead of capturing full page
  5. Update browser to latest version

Website-specific issues

Website blocks capture

Symptoms: Error message about blocked access or Captcha appears.
Some websites have security measures that prevent automated capture.
What you can try:
  1. Capture the page manually (screenshot) then import image to Figma
  2. Check if website has public API for design assets
  3. Contact website owner for permission
  4. Use alternative similar pages for reference

Dynamic content not captured

Symptoms: Dropdown menus, modals, or tooltips don’t appear in capture. Solutions:
  1. Trigger the element before capturing (click to open dropdown)
  2. Use browser extension for better interaction support
  3. Capture multiple states separately (closed and open states)
  4. Manually recreate dynamic elements in Figma after import

Infinite scroll pages

Symptoms: Only first section of infinite scroll captures. Workaround:
  1. Scroll to load desired content before capturing
  2. Capture in sections
  3. Use “Full page” option and scroll to trigger all content
  4. Some infinite scroll pages may need manual compilation
